A Mission Rooted in Service | Prolotherapy in La Ceiba, Honduras

Dr. Logan has always believed that regenerative medicine is at its best when it’s shared, shared with patients, shared with other clinicians, and shared with communities that need it most. This week, he’s living that mission in La Ceiba, Honduras, where he’s volunteering at a long‑standing prolotherapy clinic that has served the region for more than 55 years.

The clinic operates out of the local Red Cross, drawing hundreds of people from across the area who know that this is the time of year they can receive care for chronic joint pain. As he notes in the video, “people know about this clinic… they’ve been coming here for 55 years” and “the patients know to come at this time of the year if they have any pain complaints.”

For Dr. Logan, this trip is both an opportunity to give back and a chance to continue learning from some of the most experienced prolotherapy instructors in the world.

What Is Prolotherapy?

Prolotherapy is a regenerative injection technique designed to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. It’s used to strengthen and repair ligaments, tendons, and joints, making it a powerful option for people dealing with chronic pain in areas like the shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, elbow, or back.

As he states in the video, “we’re learning prolotherapy as a regenerative technique for pain… that could include any joints in the body shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, elbow, back.”

Unlike treatments that simply mask symptoms, prolotherapy encourages the body to rebuild and stabilize the injured area, helping patients return to movement and long‑term function.

🇭🇳 Inside the Honduras Prolotherapy Conference 🇭🇳

This week-long conference brings together physicians from around the world to learn, collaborate, and serve. Dr. Logan is working alongside Red Cross volunteers and world‑renowned instructors whose combined experience adds up to what he described as “over 1,000 brain years.”

The clinic is organized into eight treatment stations, each focused on different areas of the body. Throughout the week, the team will treat 800–1,000 patients, offering relief to individuals who often wait all year for this opportunity.

One patient story stood out: a woman returning for her ninth treatment visit. She shared that last year’s session kept her pain away for nearly 12 months,“she said that the treatment lasted for almost 12 months and she’s back for more treatment.” Stories like hers are a reminder of why this work matters.

Learning, Serving, and Growing

For Dr. Logan, this trip is more than a conference, it’s a chance to deepen his expertise while giving back to a community that has embraced regenerative medicine for decades. As he put it, “we’re here to serve and we’re here to learn.”

Experiences like this shape the care he brings home to Indiana. They reinforce his commitment to natural, functional, regenerative healing and strengthen the techniques he uses every day with patients at The Logan Institute.
