Let’s talk lymph!
Right now, as you read this, your lymphatic and circulatory systems are hard at work, moving fluid around your body. Your heart, the engine of the circulatory system is dutifully doing its work without you thinking about it. Your lymphatic system, however, needs your attention—and more importantly—your action. So as soon as you finish this article, get up, and get those muscles moving by doing some exercise!
Don’t tune out on me because I said the word “exercise”! What if I told you that there is a way to stimulate your muscles (all of them) in a way that is pain-free and accessible for anyone? What if I told you that by using this method, your lymphatic system would be able to function more efficiently and make you feel better? Well, this method is available right here in Dr. Logan’s office as part of the Hoffacker Health and Fitness Therapeutic Conditioning Program. It’s done by using the Power Plate, a unique piece of equipment that uses whole-body vibration to stimulate the muscles in a pleasant and effective way—more so than traditional exercise techniques.

The Lymphatic System is the body’s central waste management system. Unlike the circulatory system, it’s got no engine pumping this fluid through your body. It is fully dependent upon muscle movement to efficiently pump all the toxins, waste, unneeded nutrients, and unnecessary stuff through the Lymphatic System for removal by the liver and kidneys. The entire body is engaged in moving the Lymphatic fluids around via motion and muscle movement. You move and the lymph nodes and fluids move around and get done the job they are intended to do.
An inefficient Lymph system can cause a multitude of problems in your body. Inflammation, swelling, greater susceptibility to colds and viruses, infections, and lack of energy. Exercise and purposeful movement can greatly enhance the Lymphatic System’s ability to flow freely and rid your body of the waste that can cause all these issues.
Introducing Whole Body Vibration training on the Power Plate stimulates the lymphatic system as well as improving circulation, muscle strength, joint stability, balance, and flexibility. Its influence alone on the lymphatic system causes an immune response in the lymph nodes, giving the body better defenses against illnesses.
