PRF Therapy
At The Logan Institute for Health & Wellness in Fishers, Indiana, we use Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) therapy to help patients with stubborn joint, tendon, muscle, and ligament pain. Our patients often see improvements in comfort, function, and activity levels as PRF supports the body’s natural healing response over time.
What is PRF therapy?
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is a regenerative treatment that uses a small sample of your own blood to concentrate platelets, growth factors, and healing cells into a fibrin matrix. Instead of relying on medications to simply mask symptoms, PRF is designed to support your body’s own repair processes at the site of injury. Our patients often see this as a more natural, targeted option compared to long-term pain medications or repeated cortisone injections.
How does PRF work?
During a PRF treatment, we draw a small amount of blood from your arm and process it in a specialized way that concentrates platelets and growth factors without added chemicals. The result is a gel-like fibrin matrix that we carefully inject into the injured or painful area, such as a tendon, ligament, or joint.
Once placed, the PRF gradually releases growth factors and signaling molecules over time. Many of our patients experience:
A gradual reduction in pain and inflammation over days to weeks
Improved function and ability to return to daily activities or sports
A feeling that the area is getting stronger, rather than just “numbed”
Results vary, and healing is not instant, but our patients often see meaningful, lasting changes as the tissue responds to the treatment and continues to remodel.
Don't take our word for it!
How regenerative medicine actually helps your body heal
Regenerative therapies like PRF are built around a simple, powerful idea: when you’re injured, your body already knows how to heal; it just needs the right support in the right place. Over time, poor blood supply, chronic inflammation, and age-related changes can interfere with that healing process.
By concentrating your own healing cells and growth factors and placing them directly where they are needed, regenerative treatments can:
Support better blood flow and tissue repair
Help calm chronic inflammation that keeps tissue irritated
Encourage stronger, healthier tissue over time instead of temporary relief
We focus on helping the underlying tissue heal as much as possible, not just managing symptoms.
