In Ayurveda, we look at food by the properties they provide in addition to the nutrient content.  We do this by knowing the taste of foods and providing a balance of all tastes in each day.  In this class we will discuss the 6 tastes of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, astringent and pungent along with their health properties.  We will explore the benefits of each, wheat happens when we overuse tastes and how each of these tastes affects us psychologically bringing together how food affects the mind and body together.  You will walk away from this class with a better understanding of how properties of food affect you and how you can begin to find more balance in the meals you prepare.
